THE ENGINE SHUTS OFF!! OTHER DAY WENT TO WORK NO RAIN , STARTED RAINING THEN STOPED , STARTED X , DISCONNECTED TRAILER AND IT STOP 3 TIMES, LIKE HIGH HUMIDITY DID IT . WHAT IS CPS OR WHAT YOU SAID, I BUILD HOUSES FOR A LIVING,SO KINDA ENG DUMB. GREG
Just for the hell of it, check all your fuses too. in the eng compartment, as well as under the dash. My 01 350 wouldnt start sometimes and it was because of moisture in the fuse box... It only happened in wet weather.
The CPS is a "Cam position Sensor" that's located on the front of your engine at about 10 o'clock from the crankshaft pulley. It should be covered by your engine warranty if you're under 5yrs/100k, and if not, you can pick one up at the Int'l dealer for about $100, or the ford dealer for about $160
It's a pretty simple swap. All you need is a 10mm deep socket, socket wrench, and short extension. Shameuex2000 wrote up a nice blurb last week on swapping them out.
Have a good one,
Dave
