Raised white letter spare - NOT !!!

On all the long high speed trips with my Ex I noticed slight bouncing so when I had a nail in the tire yesterday I brought it to my local tire shop...
Had him repair the nail and was going to do the 5 tire rotation utilizing the spare... A list price of $52K+ and they give you a spare without raised white letters !!! What did they save - $5 ????

So I had him do the four wheel rotation nad asked him about balancing... Since I've been going to him for a while, he did the HIGH speed balance (he knows how I drive !) and found ALL four tires were out of balance ?!?

Much better, but why would my tires be out of balance from the factory ????

Will be 'discussing' it with my dealer this week !!!

Re: Raised white letter spare - NOT !!!

What kind of tread on that spare?

I posted a thread waaaaaay back in Jan. or Feb. about Ford putting M&S spares on every truck, whether they came with A/T's or not.

No way you can work a 5 tire rotation in with a 4x4 anymore, even if the BW didn't bother you.

Re: Raised white letter spare - NOT !!!

I haven't seen a factory issued white letter spare on a Excursion or F-Series yet.

Just steelies with black walls.

Re: Raised white letter spare - NOT !!!

Must've changed in '02. My late '01 No Boundaries (built in June '01)has 5 white letter Steeltex. I bought another Lariat wheel and have done 5 tire rotations since it was new.

If my '04 has 5 A/T's they'll all be turned to blackwalls and the same thing will happen.

Does suck that 5 of the same aren't included.
