Ranch Hand

I'm thinking about a bumper replacement since someones already dinged mine. The grill guards I see will not cover the ding. I think I could get the ding out If I took the bumper off, but that looks like a pain to take off and put back only to have someone back into it again. So I'm thinking W code springs and a ranch hand, but I havn't seen one on an X. So much to get and SO LITTLE MONEY!

Re: Ranch Hand

Worm,
I saw an X with Ranch Hand front and rear bumpers in New Braunfels, not too far from you about 4 weeks ago. It really looked like it belonged. The X had about a 6" lift too.
There's a guy not too far from my house that has a Reunel front bumper on his X, I think I like the RH a little better.

Re: Ranch Hand

Worm - Not trying to change your mind from putting on a new bumper, but for your information, the factory front bumper is easily removed and replaced. It took me less than 15 minutes to get mine off to install my front receiver.

Good luck,
John

Re: Ranch Hand

I like this ProZap hidden winch bumper in Stainless Steel, with the frenched in auxiliary light openings. http://www.prozap.com/images/Ford_Front_View_Best.jpg here's a side view http://www.prozap.com/images/fordfr~6.jpg

The Ranch Hand powder coated 'Front End Replacement' as well as rear bumpers and grill guards are popular too, especially by those that push around round bales of hay with their trucks. http://www.ranchhand.com/main.html

You can take a look at some of the Reunel bumpers here http://www.reunel.com

Road Armor bumpers are some nice powder coated bumpers also, http://www.roadarmor.com they are winch capable and have some nice options.

All of this stuff is available from our advertisers.

Re: Ranch Hand

I'm a big fan of lifted Excursions with Ranchand bumpers.

Unfortunately, I have to park my black Excursion underground during the day to keep it from being horribly hot. That limits my overal height to 6'9". I don't think my stock height Excursion would look good with a Ranchand. I'm looking for something a little less work-truck looking than a Ranchand.

Any suggestions?

Re: Ranch Hand

Installed the MileMarker 10500 hydraulic winch behind the stock bumper recently. Had to cut a hole in the stock bumper for the fairlead. Have moved the bumper forward around 8cm (3,1") but I think I can use a lesser 6cm (2.3") and still fit the winch with valves and stuff.

Also have the Luverne grill guard. Pictures (sans winch) at web page

I took off the chrome section of the front bumoer. If I remember correctly, it took about 6 bolts and a few push pin type anchors to remove the front bumper. I did not have to remove the blocker beam to install my Hidden Hitch front receiver.
