Rancho 4" Lift

Well I am still looking for that "perfect" lift for my Exursion. I am now considering the 4" lift that Rancho has for the X. It is suppose to be X specific but and has both gas and diesel springs. The springs are the same as those on the 4" Superduty lift.

Does anyone have experience with Ranch lifts? Does anyone have any ideas on how much lift I will actually get? I wonder if I will get slightly less because the X is heavier or more because our original springs are lighter. Does anyone know what the standard springs are on a 250 Superduty for comparison?

Thanks for all your help.

Re: Rancho 4" Lift

Beast,

I can't answer your questions about the Rancho lift, but here's something else to ponder.

If you're looking for the best possible ride for your application and a specific amount of inches to be lifted, then you may want to check out a custom lift from National Spring or Deaver Spring. This way you'll have the piece in mind in knowing that you could do no better, but it will cost you a bit more than a canned lift kit.

National and Deaver are probably the best quality springs you'll will find from what I know. They'll build your springs specifically for your weight and application with the exact amount of lift you want to achieve. At the very least, you may want to get a quote from these companies and compare them to the off-the-shelf systems. You may find the difference in price is worth the extra expense.

Re: Rancho 4" Lift

Beast,

Check out this post from Zipp in the Upgrade's and Aftermarket section about the Rancho 4 inch kit. Perhaps you could contact this person for more comments...

Well, I installed my Rancho 4" lift with springs on all 4 corners with RS9000s. Truck rides great and sits very nice. The only problem is the kit was designed to work with 3.25" factory blocks and my truck came with 1.25" rear blocks; so I am sitting about 2" low in the read. The new blocks are on the way. Rancho made no mention of this in their catalog or any where else. I did not find out until it was too late. I will have pictures posted next week for all to see....
