Rancho or Edelbrock?

I'm picking up a 2000 X PSD 4x4 this week. Anyone have strong opinions of which shocks are best, Rancho RS9000 or Edelbrock?

Re: Rancho or Edelbrock?

Heard good things about Edelbrock. Rancho is too soft, even the adjustable 9000's. Keep in mind, this thing weighs ~8000lbs.

Re: Rancho or Edelbrock?

I have a quad Rancho 9000 setup on my F-250, and have been debating putting that same setup on my Excursion. That way I have some control over the ride---if you get the Edelbrocks, and don't like the stiffness/softness, then what???

Re: Rancho or Edelbrock?

I have the Edelbrocks along with the Hellwig rear sway bar and absolutely love the setup, I highly recommend them.

Re: Rancho or Edelbrock?

Got the rear pair of Bilsteins this morning and they are installed. After a brief test drive I can say I like the ride better than with the Edelbrocks I used for about 6,000 miles. I think the Edelbrocks are far better than the stock shocks but they seem to have deteriorated somewhat in that brief time.
According to what I understand about the design of both, the Bilstein will likely retain it's ride quality longer. The ride is still firm but more controlled and the bumps are less noticeable with the Bilsteins.
