rear AC on 2002 excursion is not blowing cold air

My rear AC on my 2002 excursion is not blowing cold air, the controls on the ceiling work: fan control, panel/floor but the temp does not work.
I checked all the fuses on the inside panels: they are OK, except 1 that was for the secondary cigarette lighter on the front dash.
Is there a second AC unit?
a different fuse?
where should I start looking?
thx in advance

Re: rear AC on 2002 excursion is not blowing cold air

""ONLY A GUESS HERE???""""

There are two expansion valves [orfices]...
One for the front, another for the back....
Remotely possible the one for the back is clogged [plugged]

Down stream, from the valves it should be cold..

Don't ask me where they are....I don't know..

Other than that...you could check the freon pressures

Re: rear AC on 2002 excursion is not blowing cold air

If the temp control knob does not make the air hotter or colder, you have a problem with the hot/cold blend door system for the Rear A/C.

Could be a bad rotary switch in the overhead, or a wiring problem, or a blend door motor problem, or a binding door itself.

Re: rear AC on 2002 excursion is not blowing cold air

Same thing happened to mine. The blend door or valve was the problem. The compressor was leaking as well, so I had that replaced at the same time. Also, they replaced the expansion valve. Total cost was $900. It works as good as it ever has, but that is not very good. Stop and go traffic it never really gets cool. On highway its fine.
