Rear end STILL po-go ing

OK. I've put a rear Helwig on it and put Bilsteins on it front and rear. The back end still po-gos up and down after a dip in the road like shocks are worn out.
Maybe I got a bad set of Bilsteins?

Help!

Re: Rear end STILL po-go ing

Either you got a dud set of Bils or you need a firmer riding set of shocks for the rear.

We usually get more pogo with a heavy tongue load and in that case the rears go to #5 and it's fixed.

Re: Rear end STILL po-go ing

You must have got a bad set or you have other suspension problems. Since my Bilstein install a can hit the biggest bump or swoop in the road and it dampens it once and firmly stops...no bouncing or moving from front to back anymore. I can sometimes see vehicles in front of me on the highway hit a nice whoopty whoo in front of me and see them bouncing a lot and when I hit it I feel the first bump but then it is dampened and doesn't bounce anymore. If you're looking for a Cadillac ride your not going to get one unless you buy a Cadillac Keeping that in mind I'm not saying mine rides like a caddy either...it is an almost 8,000 lb. beast and does ride somewhat firm. If they truly don't satisfy you try the Rancho adjustables...people have different preferences in ride that's what makes this a beautiful country. I've ridden in an X with the Rancho's and they were pretty amazing too...I just did not want to be adjusting them all the time

Re: Rear end STILL po-go ing

When I first picked up my TT from the dealer I didn't increase my tire pressure. The ride home was miserable, up and down like crazy. My next trip I aired up the tires, no more bounce, the difference was dramatic.

Rancho 9000s set at 1-3 for Normal, 4-6 for heavy loads

I use 2 normal, 3 heavy or towing 4 for towing heavy

takes just seconds to change

Re: Rear end STILL po-go ing

I've seen some owners use Bilsteins on the front and 9000's on the rear(for manual adjustability) which seems to be a very good combo, could be an option/alternative Dr.Bill

Re: Rear end STILL po-go ing

I'm thinking of going that route. The front end seems fine. The rear sucks!
I'm gonna see if I can return these rear Bilstiens.

I took it to the place that installed them. They were very concerned that they came loose. I got there at about 4:30 pm and they took it right in and tightened them......... FOC of course.

I knew something wasn't right When I installed mine it was a dramatic difference over the stockers that were still on there at over 100,000 miles on the odo. I really like mine as I'm sure you will yours now!
