rear hatch door ajar

Just wondering if anyone else has this problem? When I close the rear hatch then try to use the keyless entry to lock and arm the anti-theft the horn beeps twice saying that the door is ajar. I guess the contact are the little black protrusions so i clean everything up and it still does it. If I wait about five minutes then it works fine.

Any ideas?

No I thought the same thing. It is in one or both of the latches on the glass portion of the rear opening. I sprayed latches with WD-40 then opened hatch several times. It now works fine. It took about 30 minutes to free whatever was sticking.

Yup, the WD-40 is the trick, keep up on them and they are fine. It is the glass latch that is stuck, the doors have no wires to them so they are ruled out. My dope light would stay on or the dash door light would stay on, just pump some WD in there, open and close a few times and you should be set. Hit all your doors with this on a regular basis and you will be fine.

Must be a Ford thing. We have the same problem with the front doors on the Gen III Taurus SHO's. WD-40 in the lock mechanisms clears it right up.
