Will the rear spring of a SD be a direct fit on-to a Excursion?
The front ones are!!!
I just replaced the fronts on my X and BOY AM I GLAD...the ride has changed 100% and what I think I am feeling is the rears being DEAD also. Oh ya..the front raised up 1 3/4 of a inch!
Yes they are a direct replacement. B codes are what you want to go for on the rear springs. What code front springs did you replace with? That will decide what rear block you will have to use to keep the proper rake.

4" exhaust, intake, and gauges in the future if the price is right.
I asked this before but am still unclear. I have take-off springs to install. "V" spring code for the front. "A" spring code for the rear. I know the stock rear springs are spring code "G". Will I gain anything by installing the "A" spring code. If so, what? I was thinking on adding air bags to handle some tongue weight sag and the 4" blocks to handle height issues, but if the "A" spring code rear springs will give some extra weight carrying capabilities, maybe I will use them. I know the overloads will not work with the Excursion. What is the difference between "A" spring codes and "B" spring codes? Bruce? Anyone?
Thanks,

The front ones have been replaced with U code springs.
And I have the other springs that came off the truck....They came off a F250SD.

I don't know what height difference you will see between an A code rear and a B code rear if any. The only difference I am sure about is that the A codes are a ~6000lb spring and the B codes are ~6800lbs.

Thanks - any idea on stock, "D" spring code ratings?
Thanks,

D is the front springs on an Ex. The A and B are the rears. I think G are stock rears on the Ex.

The U code fronts I beleive will sit level with B code rears and 2" blocks. B codes with 4" blocks will make the rear sit ever so slightly higher than the front with X code fronts, though not enough to notice unless you measure. So B codes with 4" blocks and U code fronts would sit too high in the rear for my tastes.
If they are A codes I don't have any experience so I don't want to venture a guess and be wrong.

That is what I meant; any idea on what the stock "G" spring code is rated compared to the "A" spring code?
Thanks,
John

Look at the sticker inside the driver's door. I beleive that the D code fronts are 4800lb and the G code rear are 5400lb. I didn't drive the X today so I can't go out and look.

If you whent up 1.75 with U codes you were just about on the bumpers Right?
Also do yourself one more favour, get some 03 bump stops on that 01, you will gain another .5" and a softer blow if/when you do hit.

And what has everyone put on there Ex? A or B???
[/ QUOTE ]
Well there are only a few that I know of that have actually done it, myself being on of those few. I went with B codes so I wouldn't second guess later. The ride is a lot better than stock. Haven't put on the Hellwig swaybar or ordered new shocks yet so the ride will only get better.

OK...maybe I am missing something...can you explain how a bumb stop is going to give me extra height?
