My drivers side rear vent window will not work sometimes and is very noisy when it does work. Does anyone know if you can take it apart a lube it or somehing? I am sure Ford wants alot for a new one. When it does not work I have my wife hold the button and I go hit the rear pillar and it works. I have good power to the plug I think the armature just has a flat spot or something. Any suggestions??????
I remember reading about a lot of these motors dying under warranty. I assume you're out of warranty by now? Mine was an XLT with the fixed rear windows, so I never got to personally experience this particular joy.

Those rear vent windows suck, suck, suck! I've had the motors replaced several times and they still suck. The only thing that the dealer did to make them work right is to spray silicone lubricant on the window seal. I think the combination of poor leverage from the motor and low torque can not overcome the 'stick' that happens between the glass and rubber. Spray some silicone lube on the gasket and you'll be good to go.
Mine are not stuck they just are not getting power. It acts just like a starter motor with a flat spot in the armature. Yes I am out of warranty.
After my drivers side quit at 40K I converted them to XLT trim levels by not using them anymore. This is what drives people to replace their BFT products in every 2 or 3 years!! Quality is job 1!

Had one of mine replaced under warranty too (passenger side though). After replacement, it worked nicely, but the noise is starting to return. Poor design?....you betcha! I try to Rain-X the inside of the window to reduce the amount of "stick". Hopwever, in the end, I'm not sure that this "stick" has anything to do with the root-cause of the problem. It probably doesn't hurt though. My opinion is that Ford just uses low quality, or at least sorely undersized motors for this application.
