Rear vent window again

I need to do something with my rear vent windows. They both stick and make terrible noises from the motors when opening. The only way to get them open sometimes is to hold the switch and have someone beat on the glass. Can someone explain how to remove the motor from the window? Does it just pop off the glass and then pop back on for the re-install? I was hoping to try and take the motors apart and clean the armature and lube them up. Where is the best place to order new motors if needed. Does anyone have the part #'s and $? Thanks.

Re: Rear vent window again

Once you have them open, apply a silicone spray to the rubber seals.
This should be done to all the rubber seals every 2 mths. You will find that they will no longer hang up. As for the motors..just leave them until they fail. Mine are a little noisy and have been that way for 6 years and have not failed yet. Silicone is the answer.
While you are at it use some liquid graphite on the locks including the hatch (work the key in there as it will fail if you don't ) it's
a dust collector.

Re: Rear vent window again

i found that mine would also stick. now, whenever i close them, i give them a quick tap to the open position after they fully close. they haven't stuck again and no water gets inside when i wash.

Re: Rear vent window again

I put some silicone on the rubber window seals tonight. I also took out the passenger side motor to try and lube it up. It sounds much worse than the drivers side. It was sealed up pretty good. I would have broken the case trying to open it. I used some light oil down the output shaft to try and help it. After reassebly it seemed a little better and a little quieter. But it still sticks. I hear it try to move but it is like the motor has a flat spot in the armature, like a bad starter. Did anyone ever come across a part # for these things and a cost? I will try it for a while but will probably have to end up replacing the passenger side at least.
Thanks.
