Rearview Camera

Looking at installing a rearview camera. For those that have done it. How did you route the cable from the camera. I know there is the access hole in the firewall, but the instructions make it sound like your suppose to route it through the interier. Was wondering where they entered the inside.

Re: Rearview Camera

I ran my cable through the rear door seals. I pulled the door seal up and notched the metal lip were the door seals attach to and ran the cable through the notch. I sealed up the cable and notch before replacing the door seal. Then I ran the cable up to the head liner then over to the monitor mounted above the rearview mirror. Hope this helps...Jim

Re: Rearview Camera

I ran my cable along the frame and up through the firewall plastic plug main harness after carefully drilling a hole in it and I used a weatherproof cable sealer

Re: Rearview Camera

Yeah, that one under the carpeting is what I went up through too. I have the license plate frame camera and it is hooked up to the Pioneer AVIC CD/XM/DVD built-in unit in the dash.

Re: Rearview Camera

Just got mine from Costco.com. Ordered the Hindsight C-1000. Costco has it on sale for $399. It mounts to your license plate. Hoping it warms up here soon so I can install it.
