Received my DORA today

Contacted the dealer today using their online chat and received a faxed copy of my DORA.

Dora shows the order receipt and processed date as 1-16-2004.

Priority code of 10.

As is to be expected this early there is no scheduled date or VIN#.

Dealer has a nice set of tools available from their web site.

This waiting is going to kill me...

Regards;

David

Re: Received my DORA today

In the meantime while waiting for the dealer to get your order in you have the time to plan on everything you want to do to the Excursion including the toy shopping

Have patience you'll soon have the keys

Re: Received my DORA today

I think you're lucky to have to wait for yours! A friggin local dealer got one in that matches almost 100% what I would have ordered. ONly difference is that this one has the DVD and I wasn't going to order it. Well the Pres and CEO and the VP and COO (Wife and Daughter) informed me that the DVD stays. So it's exactly what I would have ended up ordering.

I wasn't really ready, but now I feel like I jumped on a train I can't stop. We drove it last night. It hit the ground yesterday afternoon and had 4 miles on it when I crawled in. I've driven them before, but it's soooo much different when it's what you want down to the options, color etc.

The only thing is that the front springs are slightly reverse arched and have about 1" clearance like most people talk about. I was surprised after seeing my bro-in-laws 2003 7.3 with about 3". But I was really impressed with the ride and handling!!

What to do, what to do......

Oh by the way, it's a while EB, 4x4, 6.0, EB premier group, tow package, cargo "stuff", DVD, LS rear, etc. Can't think of anything it doesn't have except the chrome step bars.

Re: Received my DORA today

I don't know If I'd call the waiting lucky. I guess it all depends on how you look at things. I only buy a new vehicle about once every 8-10 years.

When I do decide to buy, I want one custom ordered to my specs. No more no less. I have two other vehicles in great running condition so am in no hurry.

There's just something about taking possession of a brand new piece of hardware that no one else has driven or owned.

It's a lot of money but I plan on keeping the thing for a long time.

Regards;

David

Re: Received my DORA today

Your friends 7.3 must have a lift or 350 springs. My 03 7.3 was the same as yours and every one built before and after. You will need to fix this as I did with V code 350 springs and a 1.5" add a leaf for 3 inches. I have X owners chasing me down to find out what I did. I love having to look down at them to talk to them.
