I've heard that a good length of fishing monofilament line pulled behind the badge will cut it off. Then use a solvent to remove any remaining adhesive.

I've had luck with using a rag under a corner, and slowly apply pressure and it slooooowly starts to lift. You'll need to put a rag or something that will keep the opposite corner from digging into the paint. A little heat helps too, like a hair dryer.

Dental floss, braided fishing line, or those plastic straps (banding material) that are around boxes. Saw back and forth without pulling out too hard.

I never knew dental floss could be really useful...

LOL...I'm with you on that. I never floss. However, I do have two comments that ARE relevant on the topic of flossing:
1) My father's dentist told him once, "There is no sense whatsoever in flossing teeth you don't want to keep."
2) The statistics show that people who floss their teeth regularly live 2 years longer than people who don't.
So, maybe I should pull out that funny looking white string that's been sitting my in bathroom drawer all these years.
