Replacing front seats with Tahoe seats?

I was looking into this after almost 6 years and 80K on the odometer. My drivers seat bottom is splitting and the cushion/foam needs replacing, but after sitting in my buddies Tahoe, I like their seats much better. The bolstering and padding is much more to my liking.

Has anyone tried this or looked into it? I was hoping to not have to buy a set in order to try the modification only to have it not work. I do not mind having to mod the mounts a little to make them work, just wanted to see what may be involved.

Thanks.

Swing by a bone yard and see if you can get seats from an 08 or newer truck. I don't know if they will bolt up perfectly but they are lightyears more comfortable then the ones in the older body style trucks. Plus if you look around you may be able to locate the same color ones as the back seats and not have to change too much. With that said maybe you can get new foam and a new slip cover. The seat covers slip on like pillow cases and the bottom probably are held on with clips...

Talk to an upholstery shop they should be able to recover/pad your seat exactly the way you want it. It's sacrilege to put a bowtie seat into a proud strong Ford product

Yeah, I dont want to iritate the the truck but those seats sure are a lot more comfortable. I will check into the newer seats and see what I come up with. Even if it is a slight color change, the 08's will probably bolt up better than trying to change it to the Tahoe ones. It seems the 02 seats in the father-in-law's F250 are way more comfortable too...I don't feel like spending a lot and I can get the seat cover through him at the dealership pretty cheap.
