Reverse parking sensor - Diesel Forum

I have a 2001 Excursion, 7.3. My reverse parking sensor does not work. When I go to reverse, the off light comes on immediately on the dash switch. I just replaced the switch and it made no difference. I read on an earlier post something about the dealer resetting the system, but there were no instructions. Anyone have any ideas?? Thanks

My service manual says to do a self test on the PAM (Parking Aid Module). It is supposed to be able to be read by a scan tool. I don't know how. If you can get this done, I have the trouble codes and pin point tests for diag. Let me know.

I have a simple rocker switch wired ahead of my beeper to override it. When I have it overridden it behaves the same way you describe (light on, no beeps). That makes me think you might have a bad connection back there to the beeper.
