I started a new thread, because the old one on this topic started to take a turn---In 3 days of owning my Excursion, I've gone from a steady long tone every time I'm in reverse, to proper operation of the sensor, to a rapid 4 or 5 beeps as soon as I engage reverse, to a steady tone, to nothing----now when I engage reverse, I get absolutely nothing!!!!! Does anyone have an Excursion which has never had a problem w/this feature? What do we do about this---I get the feeling they'll put in a new module, change the sensors, and I'll be back to where I am now----and then what???? I can live without a bunch of creature comforts, but my fiancee, who is currently, and I hope temporarily, intimidated by the size of this beast, is counting on that sensor to help her park!!!!! Now what???

Sometimes get false beeps of variable duration when put into reverse. This condition stops after about 3 seconds. It would be nice if it worked a little better.
I have never had any problems with mine. Don't know if I'm just lucky or what. I'd have thme change the entire unit. Thes things do work and it is a very nice feature on these beasts.
We have had our X since late April and have never had any problems with it. It has only been annoying while towing a trailer since it must be turned off each time you go into reverse. I am very pleased with the feature.
yours is doing exactly what mine is doing since it was new back in March. Westway Ford tells me they don't have a fix for it. The thing is driving me out of my ever-lovin....
Argh!!!

everything except heated seats (don't need em in Texas) and TT mirrors (reg mirrors look nicer)
I've had my X for two weeks now. It gets backed in the garage every night as well as normal daily backing in parkin lots etc., so we've used it a lot. It has worked flawlessly so far. It's a big help in the garage as it ends up about 6 to 8" from junk behind it. I have noticed it picks up things to the side, though, so some interpretation is involved at times. But so far the way it acts has made sense to me. Still happy...
