Jason -- If you want to write one up and submit it to Keith Anderson, I'm sure he'd put it in the articles section. The e-mail is submit@ford-diesel.com .

Re: Ride-Rite Airbag Installation

I installed mine a few months ago. The only thing I reccomend that the instructions don't say is jacking the rear of the truck up a little to help give you a few more inches to install the bag.

Re: Ride-Rite Airbag Installation

Working on the install now...had to run in and get a smaller length bolt for the drivers side. The part that attaches to the frame has 2 bolts, one clears fine, the other runs right into two lines...so putting a shorter one in....and yes..I can see that jacking it up would greatly assist, as I had fun getting the dang thing in there.
I'll hopefully have something ready to submit tomorrow.

Re: Ride-Rite Airbag Installation

Sorry, I forgot about the driver's side bolt problem. I just reversed the bolt and came in from the opposite side. It clears fine that way. I had a little trouble spreading the lines, but I got it done.

Re: Ride-Rite Airbag Installation

These things are beautiful.
Towed my new boat, had about 20lbs of air in the bags and the ride was great. went to a scale, and my trailer came in at, with the boat, 11,000lbs..

This is the only mod I've done sofar and am greatly pleased with the results.
I'll post the walk-through sunday or monday after we get back from boating.

Re: Ride-Rite Airbag Installation

Okay.
Uploaded the install pics. Post if you have any questions.

Ride Rite Installation

The install is self explanitory.

Only notes:

1. Jack up the rear using the hitch reciever. Don't lift the wheels off the ground, but jack it up enough to fully extend the springs to give you a good work area.

2. Don't pre-assemble the top and bottom together. Leave the top half (bracket and air spring) seperate from the bottom bracket...easier installation

3. loose mount the bottom bracket, and then put the top bracket/air-spring into place

4. Watch out for the brake lines on the driver side. Either get some extra washers, or a smaller bolt to avoid hitting them.

5. The skid-plate on the passenger side is a PIA. Wiggle the bottom bracket around enough and eventually it'll fall into place.

6. Bumper/Stopper Nuts-> 9/16 or 15MM socket
7. Brake line bracket -> 5/8
8. Test for leaks with soapy water.
9. Check regularly to ensure proper inflation.

HAVE FUN!!!

Here's pics of my Boat and the X after the Spring install.

X and the Boat
