DOH!! Now to find a way to stop the tow mirror from whistling when pulled all the way out!

FamilyRide,
since the thread is WAY off topic now...

have heard good results when adding the C-Betr mirrors to your stock tow mirrors...
must break up the air flow enough to stop the whistlin....

Grand Prarie Ford had them in their parts dept for $29.95 IIRC the last time I was in....

and they reviewed them here:

I will add that I agree, noise got quiter with these mirrors and they work great. I bought the mirrors directly from the maker. I had a mirror crack and he replaced it. Great customer service.

I found 5/16 tubing at Lowes today and it works great in the doors. One of the best mods yet and the least expensive also!

Re: Road and wind noise elimintation !!!

I just went to Lowes and got the 5/16 OD tubing as well. It's perfect! The wall is thicker than 1/4" so it's more rigid but the size increase is better.

I pulled the weather strip off each door, laid it out in the garage and fed one solid length through the whole thing and popped it back in. You will need to shoot a little soapy water in the opening end you start with, then once you stick, you'll ned to shoot a little in the weep holes along the way, but don't go crazy with it. It only takes little and works better it when you start sticking, pull it out a few inches and feed it back in. Do that until you can't feed it anymore then shoot a litle saopy water in the week hols nearest the end.

I also did the rear door, all the way around but didn't pull that one out. It's different and has an adhesive. I was able to feed one piece about 75% of the way around then finished it off gong through the other direction until they butted into each other.

I bet it wasn't 5 minutes per door and maybe 10-15 on the rear. I bought 75' of the 5/16" OD tubing for $10.26 and I have about 10'-12' left over! I can't wait to get out and drive now. You can tell when the doors all close, it's much more sealed. Maybe it'll cut down on dust too?
