Running board light pigtail

Hey all,

I just picked up my first Excursion this weekend and there are only two problems, rear driver side door lock (found the tinfoil mod) and the front drivers side running board light is out.

I pulled the bulb and the socket is full of blue corrosion. It even feels like one of the contacts is missing. I'm going to call the dealer but does anyone have a non-dealer solution? Aftermaket pigtail maybe? I'm sure Ford will try and sell me the entire harness. Thanks.

The dealer ordered a pigtail for me, $15, not too bad.

I got to mine before it got that bad. I was able to clean mine up and fire it up. A word to the wise though is to use some dielectric grease in the socket, even on the new one. Keep that from happening again, while you are at it do the other three to.

Yeah I have a jar of D. grease and I'm going to use that for sure. I haven't looked at the harness yet, hopefully it plugs into the socket.

I did the aluminum foil fix. Worked for a while and then took a sh...t. There is a guy selling the actuators really cheap under classified section.
