Seasick??? From driving an X

I've read alot of your posts concerning the upgrade of stock shocks to Bilstiens, swaybars, tires etc.

I love the vehicle and am about to buy a 05 diesel 4x4 EB.....But I test drove it with my mechanic for 20 min on side streets(who said it was a great one) Afterwards I felt all seasick and woosy like I just got off a boat. Granted I was in the passenger seat and he drove it hard to test everything out (swurving and stopping short )

My question: will upgrading shocks etc. really stop the "seasick" swaying of the X.

Any input would help greatly

Re: Seasick??? From driving an X

That sway is best handled with a Helwig or a F350 rear swaybar.

It'll also depend on your perspective. If your user name is what I think it is, the Ex might take some getting used to.

Also, does the one you drove have a rear anti-sway bar at all? It only came with the tow package then. If not, adding one should make a world of difference. Just upgrading the stock 24mm to the 30mm was a big difference in mine.

MPZ06 rely:

""E"" rated Michelins 265x75x16

That helps also...plus helwig sway bar and timbrens for towing

Thats an old ride....Just stuck with the handle cause like everything else , my memory is shot I've been driving a Tahoe Z71 for the last 3 years..nice ride but the lease is up and its over miles so I'm looking for somthing bigger that I can put some milage on.

If I could get the X to handle at least as firm as the tahoe I'd be very happy.

MPZ06 reply:

It won't happen NO MATTER what you do!!!

You'll never get the X to do the same...PERIOD

I had a Suburban, 2500, 454, 4x4, and it handled MUCH MUCH better than the X....The "X" is a SLUG compared....

""BUT YOU HAVE TO UNDERSTAND THE 4X4 "X" IS >8000#""

""IT'S A MASSIVE MACHINE""...

Put in a BTS tranny, and chip, and it'll talk to you!!!

IMHO...THE TWO BEST ENGINES EVER MADE WERE THE CHEVY 350, AND 7.3 POWERSTROKE...HANDS DOWN!!!
