Thanks, I searched some but I was looking for someone with specific 2000 EX knowlege on the subject. The threads I saw had some that were built in to the leather covers and it scared me to death.

Wish I could help, but I don't have a seat heater.

This link isn't addressing the heater, but might help with how to do what you need.

first you have to determine if its a bad control unit or the Elements themselves. The elements are like little blankets that sit between seat foam and cover and they are glued to the foam. One on bottom and one on seat back. At the bottom front of the seat there is a two wire plug and a four wire plug that lead to the seat heater control unit ( 2" x 4" black box ) you will have to check with ohm meter to see if there is a break in the wire in each blanket. The seat back is the 2 wire, just see if there is a break between those two and the 4 wire I would check between outside wire to closest inside and the same on the other two. If no break in those it must be control box. Mine still work so I'm just guessing on this. Good luck. " NEVER MIND read the next post and go there "

LOOSEWHEEL; That was great THANKS!! I don't have the problem YET, but now I know how to take care of it. I think I bought some time, about a year ago I swapped my 01 buckets for a pair of 05's I found at a junk yard. Seat skin are a differant pattern but the color is REAL close. I dont know why they would change the tone of TAN but they did ?

Perfect !!!! Thank you again LOOSEWHEELl ! Pulled back the seat cover and there it was. Just like it said ....jumper wire was cooked and crunchy.
I repaired the wire and the heater is back in service. The wife is happy
