Shackles

Has anyone used these on an Excursion? An 04? http://www.lordcorp.com/DesktopDefault.aspx?tabid=488

If so, how did they work?

Re: Shackles

Read closely on the Velvet Ride's. They drop an Excursion's ride height by 3"

Re: Shackles

Yeah, I was noticing that. Wondered what anyone has experienced with these after installing.

Also, has anyone used these in conjunction with another lift kit to restore the 3 inches lost, and/or go higher than factory height?

I used to have a GMC Jimmy 4x4, and there was a site I was on for a couple years. Some people made custom shackles and used fact springs, or even springs from different models. One conversion actually used F150 Springs to get a really soft ride, with major articulation.

Anyone used Revolver shackles on an X?

Re: Shackles

The way I see it the Vevlet ride shackles are made to work best on an empty truck. As you put more weight in the truck the shackles reach there limits and dont have any affect on the ride.
With all the extra weight the Excursion carries the shackles just won't work for us. Ken
