Well, it happened today.... Went to Sacramento with 19WCA62 to look at a Black '04 X LTD with an '04 PSD. And of course, I couldn't leave without it!!!!
So, my 2000 X that was totaled has now been "Officially" replaced!!!!
It had 9 miles on it when we arrived. Got home it was at 105.
Lie-o-meter said 16.5mpg and was still climbing....
THIS THING IS COOL!!!!!!
Can't wait to mash the throttle!!!!!

I was being anal with the dealer and told them I didn't want them to detail my X. So, I spent the day Scotch gaurding and cleaning the interior while watching MIB on the DVD player. [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif[/img] Couldn't do the outside being that it was POURING!!!!
Think I had it bad though, the GoodGuys were having a show at the Fairgrounds across the street. All the streetrods were soaked!!!!
That really sucks!!!
I'm going to have to go over to 19WCA62's and get a recording of his 7.3 so I will think that this thing is running!!! It's amazing how quiet it is!!!!!
Oh, and I DON'T have a Hood light!!!! I guess they have started the delete when they ran out of parts???? A couple of people with '04s posted that they had them... I can't even find the wires!!!!
Things I've noticed that have changed since 2000:
Hood light gone.
Front door lights, now red reflector only.
LTD seats do not have the "pleats" in them, now just flat panels.
Arm rests have cloth on the inside of them rather than all leather.
Noise panel above brake pedal is gone.
Oh, and I didn't get the "tire changing gloves" that I got with my '00!!!

Oh, and now I know what "romp" is. I seem to have it on warm restart.
Goes away after a couple of seconds. Also had some wierd reverse thing where it kind of "binds" and then goes. Kind of like Torque converter lock...
Not to worry though... I'm gonna put more miles on it and see if these things straighten out. It's only at 150 today!!!!!
Good to be back in the X saddle again!!!!

I KNOW you will love it...
I drive it almost exclusively even though the wife-units Lincoln LS is a pure bred sports car, the Ex is still my vehicle of choice!
And the 6.0L gets close to the same mpg as her LS....

someone crossed the center line near Sunnyvale in a Suburban...
hit an Ex head-on...

Only issue so far is I have a fuel smell in the cab.
Comes and goes...
You can not smell it under the hood so it seems that it is coming from the fuel tank or lines. I have looked and found no leaks yet...
I'll keep looking though!!!
Drive to work was great!!!! Something about your butt not being 4" off of the ground!!! (Sorry Mustang)!!
