Have V and F code springs on order for my 03 7.3L PSD 4X4. Also Helwig anti-sway bar on the way. Have read pros and cons for Bilstein and Rancho shocks. Bilsteins are very good quality, but the Ranchos are adjustable. I would prefer the least stiff ride most of the time. I will be towing my 6000lb. TT about 10,000mi. a year. I have the part numbers recommended for the Bilsteins with the V and F codes. Does anyone know the part numbers for the Rancho RS9000X recommended for the V and F code mod. Any recommendations for which shock to install or installtion tips would be appreciated.

Caryt got a question for ya. I am stock right now as I just bought the truck a few weeks ago. The shocks are dead, I mean DEAD. I want to order Bilsteins but also want to do the V&B spring mod as well. Will the increase in height from the V&B cause the shocks to too short? I couldnt find another part # for the same valving but different height. Any help would be appreciated.
Also are you on Pirate because your name looks familar.
Yep I am on Pirate , best thing is to see where the shock sets now..middle of travel or ? Then factor in the lift where will it sit? will it top out if ya cycle the suspension. Personally I like to measure the max travel that a setup will give and order the shocks to work with it. Nothing ruins your day like killing a shock.
You can always go to Bilstein 7100 serries and they will valve them to anything ya want...not that expensive. I went to short body 7100 with a 14" shaft for the frt of my EB.

I put V code and F code on mine and Bilsteins. I used the Bilsteins for the F250/350 fronts since they came with V code and that is what I now have. For the rear use the standard Bilstein for the Excursion. The rear shocks for the f250/350 do not interchange with the X. Ride quality? Excellent!
