On my excursion I have the rear side windows that open out. The cup that connects the glass to the mechanical arm has separated. There is an aluminum cup left on the window and the part that was attached to it is connected to the arm. I checked with Ford and they say you have to order the glass to fix it $1,200. Has anyone else had this problem and if so how did you repair it? Would a two-part metal epoxy work to re-attach the 2 parts?
This just happened to my Ex on the passenger side. But it seems the epoxy separated from the glass leaving the metal part attached to the truck. I am damn glad it did not happen while driving. When I get it off for a look I will decide if JB Weld might fix it. I also will call a window guy who replaced my windshield.
Anyone notice that on the PS the pillar cover hides the mechanism but on the DS it is visible?
Has this happened to anyone else? The hot sun here in Houston must have separated it. We have only opened the vents a few times.
Use the stuff they use for rear view mirrors, it will stick to glass, the JB Weld will work on the metal to metal one, Also, keep the molding greased, in the sun it will stick the windows to the molding, I have had to pop mine with my palm to release it, now I use WD 40 and it works every time. Also, they are like a park break, if you don't use it it will fail.

I had the windshield guy fix it. He had to carefully remove the old epoxy off of the glass and then re-apply new stuff. I have to keep the blue 100mph duct tape on for a week but was able to drive immediately.
I rarely use the vents as it is so damn hot here. I crack the 4 door windows when parked often but they are protected from rain by the little visor thing.
