The smaller mirrors

Anybody here have an Excursion PSD with the smaller, non telescopic mirrors? On the Limited are they signal mirrors? I have been looking for a Diesel Ex LTD 4x4 with the smaller mirrors and have never been able to find one. The dealer tells me that the larger mirrors are included with a towing package that 95% of all Diesels are ordered with, and if I could find what I wanted, it woudl be a miracle.

Re: The smaller mirrors

I'm not as worried aobut the signal mirrors as I am worried abotu just having the smaller mirrors. The X would not be able to fit in my garage without the smaller mirrors.

Bill- I might consider trading with you if I am not able to find the smaller mirrors. I woudl help you with the work and charge you $10 per mirror (since you have an older truck).

Re: The smaller mirrors

Excursion:

You REALLY want the big mirrors...the convex piece is a big safety factor!!

Solution to your garage problems is to roll down the window and fold the driver's side mirror in...(they fold back really tight)

You should then have enough room for the passenger side mirror to clear.

This is what my wife does every day...well almost every day...the other days she just lets the mirror smack the side of the garage...

Re: The smaller mirrors

Excursion The K. W. Muth listed in the link makes a conversion kit that will fit which ever mirrows you end up with. They have the directional signals like Your Navigator. You may try looking over the Kelly Blue Book site and you can see most of the packages and options that are availabel for the X. Just put in like you are priceing out an order. Their link is.

Hope this helps.

Re: The smaller mirrors

The dealer is feeding you a line.

When I bought my X there was not an excursion on the lot with the trailer tow mirrors. There were about 10 X's. I had them included as part of the deal. If you are going to tow you want the bigger mirrors.

Re: The smaller mirrors

See, all we have around here is the trialor mirrors, and I hate them. They are too big, the look ugly, and I really don't need them. I dont want to have to fold in my mirrors because I know I would forget at sometime. Plus, I don't tow trailors that big that I actually need them. The most I pull is a 15 foot trailor with quads and dirtbikes on it.

Re: The smaller mirrors

I think that people have put Expedition/Navigator mirrors on their Excusions to get this option.

Re: The smaller mirrors

I am confirming the previous post; all Excursion are factory equipped with the towing package. The mirrors are an independent option.

Please find out what your dealer is smoking. I don't know of any "towing package" for the Ex at all.

Both of our 2001 Excursions (both Limited PSDs) came with the regular mirrors, which were signal mirrors. The dealer included the add-on kit for the TT mirrors as part of the deal on each vehicle. Mine already has them (they're not signal mirrors, but the signal kit is available from http://www.kwmuth.com), and hers will as soon as the plates come in. I'd be happy to ask for the old mirrors and strike a deal with you if you're interested in them. I never asked for the old mirrors on mine.
