We just had our second mini snow storm here. Six inches of snow over a sheet of sleet. The Ex performed so well I haven't had to engage 4WD yet. I'm still hoping we'll get a good 15 incher before winter leaves. BTW, for all you drag racing fans out there, check out my brother's 10 second stock '69 428 Cobra Jet Mustang coupe in the feature story in the centerfold of the latest issue of Mustang magazine.

Yeah - I agree these beasts are great in snow. Good balance and the 8,000 lbs does wonders for traction. Some here have complained about the stock tires, but I've found the Firestones to work well.
Yeah guys--definately a tank!!! I've had crew cab 4x4s and without loading up the bed (a real pain in the neck each time you're going into weather) they could never match up to this X. Just git n go. Now don't all you 250 and 350 guys start dissin me----I loved them too. The X is just packaged better for me.

Ditto!
Our first snowfall was about 10 inches, but it came as 2-3 inches of snow, then about an inch of ice before we got the rest of the snow.
I have a Toyota 4Runner that loves to go anywhere, but there wasn't enough weight to break through that layer of ice. It would spin all day and go nowhere.
The Excursion (with twice the weight of the 4Runner!) broke through and as you guys have said, best rig I have owned for snow.
I must say though, you don't want that 8,000 lbs on solid ice . . . something about an object in motion will remain in motion . . . especially at 4 tons! Our last ice storm was nothing but ice and I enjoyed the fireplace rather than the X!
We had a small snow fall last weekend. I have never had a vehicle so secure. Stable and just asking for more. Many nuts in ditches but I just kepy moving forward steady and staight. The Firestone AT worked well. I used 4 wheel drive a few times just to play. 2 wheel drive with limited slip worked great. I can not wait for more snow.
