You might want to look at the inside of your front quarter panels. Open the door all the way and look forward toward the hinges. You should see a gray foam sheet running from top to bottom. Mine was all curled up laying at the bottom. I was installing mud flaps and had to get in there. Looks like sound proofing to me. A .02 cent small bundle tie will hold it up. Otherwise it will just curl up at the bottom again. Quality is sometimes job no. 5. Might want to get the wife with small hands to get in there.

You've lost me. I've always understood quarter panels to be on the rear of a car.
Where is this insulation?

No, he is right. There are 4 "quarter" panels, 2 - 4 doors, a hood, a tailgate or trunk lid and a roof. You could call them fenders but they went out in the 50s or so. A Dodge Prowler has Fenders.

Maybe my terminology is regional to the Chicago area. The body men and body shops that I have talked with over the years allways called the rear fenders quarter panels, and the front fenders were called fenders.
Fenders if you live up north, quarter panels if you live in the south, front left side and front right side if you live on the west or east coast. Just follow the rest of the suggestion which is probably self explanatory and "Open the door all the way and look FORWARD toward the hinges" you will then see what I am talking about. I'm just trying to help out fellow X drivers.
