Speaker wire colors for neg and pos?

Installing new Infinity 6822s, and I dunno what wire colors are what for the + and -. help!

I had the same issue. Set your volt meter to 2 volts DC, turn on the radio and probe the 2 terminals. If it shows (-) voltage your wires are opposite i.e. red probe to ground, black probe to hot, if it shows normal voltage your leads are correct.

Guess I finally have to go buy one of those. I just have a test light righ tnow, which sucks.

Since I had the door panel off at work, I tried wiring both ways, and sounded the same. I only had a chance to get 1 wired (thanks FOMOCO for making the original speaker wire JUUUST long enough to reach the stock terminals...I had to extend mine), so I figured I'd know the correct way to wire em when I put the other 3 in next week, and I can recheck the first. Thanks!

I put in a Blaupunkt 220A powered subwoofer and one of the Infinity 6822s so far, can't wait to hear it with all the 6822s.

I finally got around to get the tester and try it, but it didn't quite work.

I'm going to get a different tester today, as the one I had only had 850m and 1.5v, nothing for 2v. But, in either setting, it showed negative both ways! Perhaps it's a bad meter or just because I didn't have the 2v setting? Ideas?

Shouldn't make any difference 1.5 or 2. 2 is the lowest setting on my meter, output showed up as .3 so....try a little more volume.

I think it was just the tester. I bought a new one that was digital and it worked great. MAN those speakers are better than the stock ones.

Yeah. I put the Infinity 6812's in mine, now my wife complains the stereo in her car sounds like junk..
