Which Spring to get??

Hi everyone, new here and just finding out about a few things. I see some x owneres have put new springs on there x's dew to bottoming out with there front springs. At the dealer on saturday I looked a 2 x's, there springs to bumb stomps are less than 2", then looked at f250/f350 and they have over 3-4" of travel with the same motor and front diffs. I talked with my dealer and they are willing to put new springs on my x's when it gets off the truck. What code springs would you all recomend? thanks in advance....jerry

Re: Which Spring to get??

Go with the "X" code spring from the f350/550, if u look further down the thread to "x" spring codes you will find the part# for the springs. I just put mine in last weekend, I would suggest u use an impact wrench for most of the modification, The time you may spend doing the swap is worth the trouble, I got almost 2" of added height to my excursion and made my own blocks for the rear. Good luck

Re: Which Spring to get??

I'm real happy with U-Codes. I think if you go stiffer than that you need to plan on doing something with the rear as well.

Just my .02

Dave

Re: Which Spring to get??

I suggest U-Codes. Any stiffer than that and you may be nose high. I added Air-Lift bags as well to adjust the rear. Works great.

Re: Which Spring to get??

Ts Us or Vs your choice, I have posted extensivly on this subject for over a year (Check my posts) and have V codes If I were to do it again I would use Us or even Ts with the the new stops and I if the the new 6.0 is a few pounds lighter Ts may be just the ticket for the smoothest highway ride.
Also if you click on the picts in my bio there is more info.

Even the S code will raise your truck but I would not use them on a PSD.

Re: Which Spring to get??

Has anyone put air bags on the front instead of changing the springs?

Like Chaw give me the X codes and 03 bumpstops. They are softer when you bottom out. I need to get over to Hyde's also CHP and get the Racor fuel filter and my tools back to Tarrant County!!!

Re: Which Spring to get??

Our Excursion did not require a rear block/spring lift as we have around a 3/4" nose down offset.
