stabalizer bar

Maybe I'm wrong but isn't this the same as a sway bar. I see they are offered on the TOWING package on a 2004 but all of the dealers stock none have a towing package. They all have 175.00 trailer tow mirrors. I put a bar on my 2000 and would like to get a new one if i can just order it that way. Ford shows sticker for trailer tow package at 225.00. Why would you not get the package and just get the mirrors? i tell you why Ford has trouble selling the x is they don't have enough color choice. why is it you can't get a limited in Red? so i settle for a red Eb but now it's a two tone interior that i don't care for. And weres the chrome? why a optional chrome running bar on a truck with no other chrome? (unless a xlt).Sorry for getting on a rant, but is the towing package still available or did they delete the sway bar from it?

PS -I found the chrome, they are on the dash vents in the expeditions.

Re: stabalizer bar

Hi,
The 4X4 comes with the stabilizer bar on the rear in 04.
All X cars have the tow package with rear hitch(H--da Snagger).
The Tow mirrors are an option on all.
Don't know if the rear stabilizer bar is available with 2WD or not.Knowing F--d probably not.
The Helwig bar does work.
FWIW I just switched my rear 24mm stock rear bar with a 30mm rear bar off a 2002 F-350 CC 4X4 Off Road package. All the hardware was the same, only larger diameter bar and rubber insulators where the bar is attached to the rear axle. There is somewhat less body roll in hard corners.

Re: stabalizer bar

i was wondering what was up when i seen the sticker for the optional mirrors. Don't get me wrong these are the mirrors i have now (2000) style and i want the trailer tows just couldn't fiqure why they didn't get the complete tow package.Ford website on the build your vehicle section reads that the trailer tow is option on eb and limited 4x4 x's. Hindsight is i should of crawled under the thing in the lot and physicaly looked!

Re: stabalizer bar

went back and crawled under the truck they all have the sway bar,BUT evidently the new 6.0 comes with a cat converter. Hate to knock that thing off on a speed bump!

Re: stabalizer bar

I know the feeling of limited colors on the "limited"... I guess that is why it is called the "limited". Limited Colors, Limited Options, limited availability, limited number to choose from, etc...

I too settled for the eb, because I wanted dark blue. Although the only option I really wanted that I couldn't get in the eb, is the steering wheel HVAC and radio controls. Once you drive a car with them you don't want to drive one without!

I too, should've looked underneath for the alleged standard sway bar that I don't have. Although, with everyone talking about changing the stock one out, maybe I'm better off buying a helwig aftermarket one.
