Re: Steering Stabilizer

Rancho and ProComp. I have the Rancho. I understand the ProComp comes with a new end bracket designed to handle the larger cylinder size. Rancho does not. I had to torque the bracket hard to bend it enough so that I could tighen the unit. I would go with the Procomp next time.

Re: Steering Stabilizer

I just installed a Rancho on mine. It came with a larger bracket. I can't find the Rancho part number that I used but you can call Rancho and ask them.

Re: Steering Stabilizer

Stock is too small in diameter. It allows the steering to move around too much, especially with bigger tires. Once you change to the Pro-Comp you will notice an improvement. For about $40 and 15 minutes time its the best quick modification besides the shocks.

It provides increased steering stability while towing, driving in high winds and off-road. I ordered mine from Ryan at SuperDuty HQ's.

Re: Steering Stabilizer

I put a skyjacker stab on my X. Was $28 from NTW. Fits fine.

Re: Steering Stabilizer

Not sure if the Ex is the same number as the SD but check my signature photos and scroll down to the "old vs new" stabilizer photo to see it for yourself. It is a Rancho.

Re: Steering Stabilizer

Skyjacker P/N is 7099, and is a direct replacement. I fliped the factory steering bracket to the back of the crossover link and also moved it to the farthers setting (towards drivers side).

Can tell it's there, helps keep tracking straight with 35s, but does not increase steering effort by much.
