I'm thinking of putting a steering stablizer on my truck - trying to tighten up the suspension in general. Anyone have any suggestions - brands, regular vs. dual stabilizer, etc?
I have to agree with Lane..I just did this to the wife's EX and it made a huge difference! Skyjacker dual for about 106.00 at 4 wheel parts..
Tom that and V codes made a HUGE difference!

Thanks guys. I was looking around on the Internet for what's available. The "regular" stabilizers appear to be very easy to install. Are there any links to install instructions/pics for putting either dual or inline stabilizers on an X?
How do you know when the steering stabilizer goes bad and what improvement do you get with a new one?

How many miles on it, driving conditions (rough roads?), is it leaking. I would consider replacing all the factory shocks after 20-30,000 miles.
Im not sure if the stock Motorcrafts are mono-tube or twin-tube. If they are twin tube I would throw them away today.
I just replaced my stock stabilizer with a Rancho, ordered it from Napa-$55 + tax. Rancho offers a stock replacement and one that uses their mounting kit if you dont have the mount already. Also replaced the stock shocks with Bilsteins, havent driven it much yet but I noticed a big improvement already. The old motorcraft stabilizer was shot at 80,000 miles. (just bought the X) I just went with a single stabilizer. They usually recommend duals with 35" or bigger tires, and the Rancho is more stout than Motorcraft.
Thats weird, I thought they all came with one, mine did, I replaced the stock one when I did the other shocks, I used a Rancho. Mine used the stock brackets but even without it would take minutes to install. I don't know why they would not have one stock.
