stock lug nuts

Can anyone tell me the lug nut thread size for my 01' excursion. I ordered centerline hellcats 8X16 and was told I would have to use the stock lug nuts (via 4 wheel parts)I called 4 wheel parts for trim rings that cover the lugs and they sent me CS-27 trim rings which did not fit. I then called Centerline and they told me I needed CS-109 trim rings but that they wouldn't be available for a few months (new part). So, I need to cover those ugly stock lugs or find out if I can use an aftermarket lug. I also thought about shimming the stock lug out a bit and using the stock chrome caps. Any advice would be appreciated

Re: stock lug nuts

Hammer, I ordered Eagle 589's and a complete set of Mcgard Lugs & Locks, (go to any truck or speed shop to order these). I also ordered the SS caps which I intended to use until I found a way to attach the factory caps to the Mcgard Lug Nuts. If your wheels have enough flat area around the lug nuts, then you might be able to use the factory cap. I ended up locating an additional pair of closed caps for the front because I usually leave the hubs locked from the first snow until spring and it's not too hard to pull the caps off to go off road.

Thanks for the reply. I got the impression that the stock lugs were special due to the fact they have to be torqued to 155 ft lbs.I have plenty of area around my centers to install the stock caps. I think I will call Summit Racing tonight and order a set of lugs.
