OK, I am buying the 7.3 2000 PSD Excur. The truck has 39K, and I can't budge the front hubs. Any one run inot this?, and about how much. I read on another post it was about $125??
If you don't want the "auto" mode then you can replace them with warn premiums. I've had good luck with giving the hub area a "hosing down" with silicon spray and working through their range once a month.
Regards,
Dave

Had the same problem on my 02, they were very stiff,
Then I had the right front hang up and would not release, So I locked them both up, with the dash Switch in 2WD until the dealer replaced them both under Warranty. I had sprayed them some and silicone did seem to work better than WD-40. Seems to be a typical problem for a lot of SDs that do not get the hubs "exercised" often.

I was having the same problem. Instead of messing with the stock ones I bought some ProComp hubs made by Mile Marker. They are all metal and cost about $140. I plugged the vacuum lines going to the stock hubs. I don't have the convenience of going into 4 x 4 without getting out, but I don't use it too much in So. Cal.

I too have had this problem. Removed my hub lockers, disassembled, cleaned and immersed in oil for a few hours. Now they are good as new. Just have to keep them lubricated. Those O-rings have a nasty habit of drying out and sticking.
I have now made it a habit to give them a squirt of oil when I do the oil changes. At which time, I also "excercise" them a bit.
NEVER....I mean NEVER use tools on these lockers or force them to turn. If you do, you will almost surely destroy the O-ring. And as far as I can tell, these units are not serviceable.
