Take the part number to a GOOD dealer part's department, and they can look it up. Might need the year of the pickup they came from. Or, look on the door frame of the pickup and read the spring codes on the same sticker where the tire inflation info is located.

I use Hellwig front and reat and Bilsteins what a difference even in normal driving. Now it doesn't roll around in the corners.

Re: Suspension mods. for Excursion for towing

While the rear Hellwig anti-swaybar made a decent improvement, and new Ranchos helped a little less, the single biggest (and best) improvement I made was to install a set of radius-rods that keep the rear axle in a controlled arc. The Excursion's common wandering ailment comes from the rear axle inducing some steering whenever it gets a little out of square with the vehicle's centerline. This is caused by the X having the weakest of leaf springs among all SD models, resulting in axle wrap. The axle gets out of square when axle wrap is not equal between both left & right sides. Most folks go all over the front end components attempting to make the X track better. I fixed mine with the radius-rods ... nothing else. Not only does my X track straight, the ride is smoother, too. All of the rear suspension's "jumpiness" is gone.

Do you have an information link on radius rods?

They've been discussed a lot on the FordExcursions.com (yes, that's plural) forum.

I bet that it is less filling and tastes great too.

OK. Sorry. The rod looks like a reasonable improvement, but a bit pricey and you have to hack off a piece of your spring.
