Is this as easy as just jacking up the truck and swapping the stock 2 inch to the taller 4 inch block? I don't like how these sit level unloaded, seems like any kind of load is gonna make it sqwat pretty good, so I figure just putting in a taller block will get me where I want to be. How easy is this? U-bolts long enough?
You need the longer U-bolts. The stock ones would barely make it, I don't think you would have 1 thread above the nut... in any event, most recommend replacing the U-bolts instead of re-using them.

Make sure to get the tapered blocks or you will have drive line vibrations. You will need the longer U bolts to install them correctly.

So the factory blocks from the 350's are either 3.5 or 3.75 inches tall?
I've got 6" front springs and 5" rear springs for my X. So it sound like I can just swap in an 350 stock block and make up the difference? Does that sound right?
When I swapped my factory blocks for F-350 blocks the one ton blocks measured 3 3/4". My factory X blocks where not 2" (1 3/4") but 3" (2 3/4"). It messed me all up. I knew there was a 2" difference in the blocks between an F-250 & F-350. So, after I replaced the front springs on my X, I was 2" low in the rear. I thought switching out the blocks for F-350 blks would do the trick. I never thought to measure the X rear blocks. Once I put the F-350 blocks on and set the truck down, it sat 1" low in the rear. I ended up bolting a 1" spacer block to the spring pack to finally get my level stance. I don't know if this X was unusual or if more X's have this funky size rear block. For those of you doing this, you may want to measure your block first.
Take Care,
Lane
