To those lucky enough to own an X and a SD CC !!

Hi to those of you that own both an Excursion and a Superduty Crew Cab, I'd appreciate a couple of minutes of your time:

Can you compare the rear seats of your trucks? I'm trying to see if an X 2nd row seat will be an easy replacement for my CC rear seat. This would give my CC a user-friendly split folding rear seat with headrests.

Do the floor and seat mounting points look the same? Anything else which might be pertinent?

Thanks in advance! Keith.

Re: To those lucky enough to own an X and a SD CC !!

Keithf,

I will post some measurements and comparisons as soon as I get a chance. Give me a few days as I have a trial and some motions to get out of the way over the next couple of days. Also, it is pitch black by 5 PM so it is a little difficult to see the structures under the seats very well.

Re: To those lucky enough to own an X and a SD CC !!

POLR BR,

Thank you also. When you have a chance to look, please see if the floor is the same shape on both. I thought when looking a couople months ago that the shape of the floors were different. I think I remember a hump on the X or vice versa.

Keith, that's exactly what I would like to do as well. It would be a great addition.

Thanks,

BKino

Re: To those lucky enough to own an X and a SD CC !!

I am afraid you guys may be in for some customization work. The CC is 48" centre to center at the mounting bolts. The X is 49 1/2". The X has 4 mounts while the CC has 2. The extra 2 are located to support the split seat arrangement. The CC has a hump in the floor but the X does not. I do not think this will make a difference because the hump is not high enough to interfere with the seat. The mounting hardware appears somewhat different in shape but it is difficult to tell precisely because the X mounts are covered with plastic trim. The bolt pattern does seem different however.

Both seats are about 59" wide. The X is 59" and the CC is 59 1/2". I suspect the CC cloth is a little bulkier and is the reason for the slight difference in size.

I think the seat will go, but there will have to be some custom fabrication, particulary for the middle 2 mounts that do not exist on the CC and quite possibly for the outside bolt pattern.

If you have further questions, I will be happy to oblige.

I was a little slow on the draw. The hump will interfere because the length of the two middle supports of the X seat will be thrown off by the hump. Those two inner mounts will have to be shortened and possibly contoured, depending on whether they land on top of the hump or on the side as it rises.

Re: To those lucky enough to own an X and a SD CC !!

POLR BR, thanks a million for the great info! That's great news, at least it "may be" possible, and is not impossible.

Will plan to check this out in more detail at a Ford dealer to see how much work will be required, and then see if I can locate a wrecker with an X seat for sale cheap.

If I learn anything new I'll share it here.

Thanks! Keith.

Re: To those lucky enough to own an X and a SD CC !!

Hi JD, I have a 40/20 front seat, so cannot help with a trade. This place may have what you are looking for though - they have the captains chairs - http://www.truckandrv.com/tseats.htm

I'm interested in your 2nd row seat if it's grey cloth - I have the XLT graphite interior in my F350. What would you be asking for it? Any idea what shipping would be to zip 77060?

Thanks! Keith.
