Re: for those of you that get good mileage, what is your code?

How do I determine what code I have?

Re: for those of you that get good mileage, what is your code?

Look in the door jamb on the driver's side door. (front jamb) There should be a white paper sticker with a 4 letter/digit code. Unless you've been reflashed by the dealer that would be your code.

Regards,
Dave

Re: for those of you that get good mileage, what is your code?

Coldair, mine is NQW4 also.I'm down to an 1/8th tank now on the same tankful from the Saturday before last and have been watching it like a hawk and doing my best to keep the engine at 1500 rpm.Averaging 15.6mpg mixed driving.Highway speeds of 60-65 mph.
What I've seen so far is this.Definitely runs quieter with a full tank.Runs better cold.knock begins above 1500 rpm and again,is worse as the fuel level lowers and when engine warms up.

Part of me would like to pull the injectors and take a look at them as Shamuex suggested and do all the fuel mods(and risk losing my warranty).Part of me wants to take it to a dealer and let THEM take care of it but I know what I'm in for as far as THAT goes. And then there's the part of me that wants to take it to the dealer anyway, let them try to fix it a few times and when they can't,make F**d eat this vehicle.Problem is,I've come to like this truck.
What to do,what to do........

Here's some worthless trivia for you. All the EPA "mileage" numbers you see on those itty bitty cars are taken at 48mph for the highway rating. (so IF we had a sticker, I'd say we'd be at 22-23 mpg on the X "highway

[/ QUOTE ]

I had 25.7 mpg at a steady 55 mph with my trip computer.

Re: for those of you that get good mileage, what is your code?

How many thousand of those steady miles did you have to log in a row to GET that 25.7?
I drove 1500 miles round trip from Jersey to Charlotte NC at 60mph when the truck had 1k miles on it and didn't break 18.5
I smells something fishy here.

I can't drive 55 so it was only for a few miles.
