TT mirror disassembly

I have decided to save some $$ and add led lights to the TT instead of buying the new TTs . I plan on putting some clear lens/amber on the bottom of the mirror . So how do you take the outer shell off without breaking it ??

Re: TT mirror disassembly

Here's a real good .pdf on how to take them apart:

http://www.kwmuth.com/techsupport/pdfs/21000220.pdf

Actually, that company sells replacement mirrors with the signals built into the mirror, much like the smaller non-TT mirrors.

Problem is that they're $269 for the retrofit. Ow! Looks nice though!
