I am thinking about trading my 2001 chevy hd2500 crew cab 4x4 lt for a 2000/2001 PSD excursion 4x4 limited...what kind of price difference are we looking at here?
I have heard numerous accounts of owners taking a beating when selling after a year or so on their excursion...I want a black/tan excursion with a 6inch lift and 35's...If i don't trade for an excursion than i'm gonna lift my chevy, but before i throw down the jack for the 6" IFS kit, i wanna be sure thats what i want...i want something unique, i had a 99 SD with a 5incher and 35's but now everyone and their mom has one...I have only seen a couple of lifted X's in the Houston area and have not seen any new HD's lifted...
Any help appreciated, whether it be seeing a used PSD X or knowing a good dealer..
You always take a beating when you trade-in. But especially now! When you can get such low financing on a new vehicle compared to a used one. The auto industries in a slump right now and dealers are only giving what the wholsalers are offering especially at a different brand of auto. I had a hell of a time trading a pontiac for a ford. The first time I was offered 11k when I owed 12k, then 9.5k at the next dealer, then I made a deal at 13k when I owed 10k. If you can sell it yourself you are better off, however, they may be selling new ones cheaper than what you bought yours for. Someone here in Austin ran an add for their 1 year old X at 5K more than I paid brand new! They must have paid full MSRP! The X is by far the coolest car I have ever owned(cost half as much as my house). Good luck!
P.S.
I have a cousin that just moved to Baytown. I was born in Wharton. I worked at the South Texas Nuclear Project when it just started being built, I was a flagman in the middle of a rice patty! One of the worst jobs I ever had.I was fresh out of highschool in '76.

I'm not sure you will be happy with an X. Maybe a Hummer might be more the ticket if you are looking for rarity value?

If I had the money for a hummer I would just go right down the the X dealership and buy one...right now, that is not the case...I want an X because a)there aren't many of them lifted, 2)not too many in the houston area period 3) I liked my SD when I had it, 4)I want it...
4X4, I must apologize. I was thinking Baycity, that is where my cousin moved to. But I did live close to Baytown once(Deer Park). I think I payed close to $500 above invoice. I was negociating with a trade so I compromised some. I didn't see the invoice, but I had seen some aready so I knew that it was around 41k.

Yeah, they are a little steep! But if you finance through Ford you can get 0.9%.
