Warn Multi Mount

I am thinking of purchasing the Warn mutli mount system with the 9000 series winch for my X and getting the front receiver. Does anyone have any experience with this sytem and/or sugestions. I know I won't be able to replace the fronty bumber and don't like the idea of extending the existing one. Besides I like the idea of being able to use the winch on the rear.

Beast:

Why "won't" you be able to replace the front bumper?

Re: Warn Multi Mount

My Dad has a 2000 Ex. with a front reciever. Factory bumber is on in the same location. Only thing he lost was the license plate bracket. He made a cool bracket that fits into the reciever. Can use his Warn wench back or front. I have the same system on my Truck. See sig line. Email my dad if you have questions. His name is Don: dskelton@texoma.net.

Re: Warn Multi Mount

I called warn and they said the front reciever will not work because of the blocker beam. Man is this thing a pain in the ass or what. I was wondering if I could get it to fit anyway. Anybody done this yet or installed a class III front reciever on their Excursion yet?

Re: Warn Multi Mount

Beast, did you see my 12-5 post. My dad has a front reciever on his 2000 Ex. It works with the blocker beam. I don't know if the reciever is a Warn, but the winch is. Who cares what brand the reciever is if it works and is strong. See email address of my dad above. Email and ask him the brand. Or call Earl Owens Truck Accessories in Sherman, Texas. Area code is 903 for directory assistance purposes. Earl Owens put the one on my Dad's Excursion.

Re: Warn Multi Mount

Hidden Hitch makes a front receiver for the Excursion. Cost under $100 from JC Whitney. You have to remove the front bumper to install the hitch then reattach the bumper. You have to find a new mount for the license plate or Hidden Hitch makes a mount that goes in the receiver. I am ordering the reciever this week.

Aside-I had Hidden Hitch front receiver on my Expedition. Very nice product and was a great palce to mount the bike carrier or a winch.

Re: Warn Multi Mount

JADFPE,
Have you installd your front receiver yet and how do you like it? Does it cover too much of the cooler grid? I am really interested in this and would like to hear from you on how the install went and what you think of the product.
Thanks.

Re: Warn Multi Mount

I have been spending money on "other" things up to now. As soon as warmer weather hits, I plan on ordering the front receiver and installing. I will keep you updated.
