I bought the Tekonsha Prodigy Electric Trailer Brake Controller and now need to mount it in the X. Where have you guys installed yours?
Also, does anybody have a definitive use for the cubby? I was kind of thinking of mounting it there? Pros or cons, anyone?

Mine came with a slide out holder which I mounted using velcro tape.
I placed it on the bottom of the dash just below the map holder pocket. The dash angle makes it just right for viewing and it is out of the way of legs and feet.
When not towing I store the unit and leave the bracket since it easily slides out of the holder.
The angle also allows the unit to hang within the specs that it is allowed to tilt without any errors.
Just in case your dash is different, 6 " to the left of the cigar lighter and about 3 " down. The special order prodigy harness hangs in the rear of the holder.
Hope this helps,
Mesu

It is hard to take travel serious when every time you leave home you take an Excursion !
I have one also, the place to mount it is just below the cubby hole in the dash , you know, the rectangle one. It is a nice little indent that is made for this. Also just below the auto pedal switch. It is the perfect angle and within reach for adjustments. Have fun getting your hands in the plug in spot. This place is also close to this plug in.

I put my Prodigy in the cubby. I've thought about moving it to the angled surface below the cubby, but haven't done it yet. I keep my sunglasses or cell phone in the left over section of the cubby, though I won't put the phone in there if I'm towing. A ringing phone is distracting enough without the trailer brakes locking up at the same time.

I mounted mine on lower edge of dash like This. I don't use my cubby for anything but a catch all, and considered installing it there, but decided I wanted it more "out of site".
