Why should I get PSD insted of gas?

I will be getting two 2001 Excursions next week. Why should I look at PSD? I will be driving one and my wife will get the other. Hers will be gas. There is no other way she will have it. But I am open to diesel. Right now diesel is running about $1.60 per gal in the Atlanta area.

Thanks
Rodney

Rodney,

I posted this about a month ago.

Sounds like your wife made up her mind. Perhaps she has not given the PSD a fair evaluation. I'll bet an evening of drinks that before a year has passed and she has gotten used to your PSD, she will wish she had one. In fact, you should be a little worried if you get the PSD. What's your is hers, etc. If I were you, I would invest in a club lock and throw away all extra keys.

Re: Why should I get PSD insted of gas?

The answer is fuel economy, fuel economy, fuel economy! If you get the PSD and your wife gets the gasser, tell her that you can go twice as far as she can on a tank of fuel.

Re: Why should I get PSD insted of gas?

Not just fuel economy---how about the 100k warranty on drivetrain???? How about a vehicle that will last at LEAST 200k, if you take a little care of it, and probably DOUBLE that if you baby it a little. My fiancee fought, and fought about it, wanting an Expedition. She just went to the Alabama/LSU game in Tuscaloosa, with all her sorority sisters, and they had a blast in the Ex----her only complaint now is that I make her add Stanadyne to each tank, and some of it gets on her hands-----
go diesel!!!!!!

Re: Why should I get PSD insted of gas?

Thanks for all the info and help.
She said that PSD will be fine.
She started noticing all the gas stations
around that have diesel.

Re: Why should I get PSD insted of gas?

i brought my 2000 f250 cc with the psd. after riding in my truck my wife refused to drive a psd excursion. she hates the noise.
the excursion gets 8.9 miles to a gallon of gas, the f250 gets 15 miles to a gallon. she hates the noise so much that she suggested that i trade it in and get a gas truck instead. the noise does create a problem when going thought drive up windows, you had to shut the engine off in order to order, and at the bank. both of the trucks are four wheel drive.

Re: Why should I get PSD insted of gas?

The new Ex's are MUCH quieter than the trucks.

Re: Why should I get PSD insted of gas?

v10 8mpg in town, PSD 14+mpg in town... v10 SLOW AS HELL, PSD faster than v10 and cab be made WAY faster with very few $'s,
try pulling 10,000lb up hill with v10
PSD will last longer
PSD sounds better
PSD IS better
fords v10 belongs is a f150 not in a 8000lb FORD-A-SORIS

getting my drift lolol

Re: Why should I get PSD insted of gas?

FastMatt:

Ditto!!!

Also, I WISH they put the V-10 in the F-150s because that would be AWESOME. I'd trade my F-150 in for that in a heartbeat.

Although, on second thought, if I were to spend that kind of money...I would probably go to an F-250 Crew with PSD. I have fallen in love with my X PSD, but it's the wife's ride.

You said it: "PSD sounds better...PSD IS better!"
