Yellow Spots on Back doors?

I found some yellow spots on the two back doors just under the lift gate and a couple on the outside of the right door. Has anyone else seen this?

Re: Yellow Spots on Back doors?

What do you mean exactly by yellow spot? A paint blemish? A sticker?

Re: Yellow Spots on Back doors?

yeah, I had yellow spots when I first bought my X... I would assume they came from some type of grease (from the factory). I took it in to the dealership and watched them use rubbing compound to remove the spots....they came right off. ( I tried several mild cleaners, and they didn't budge the spots). So, if your X is new, make them remove the spots or just buy a tub of rubbing compound.......c-ya

Re: Yellow Spots on Back doors?

I've heard that the yellow spots are rail dust which collects on the rear doors during transport. There is a procedure that dealers have to remove. I will try to find the link and post.

Bob,
Have your wife hit you over the head with the frying pan again, should knock your vision back to normal.

Re: Yellow Spots on Back doors?

Bob McDonald: Those yellow dots are the rear window washers spitting up. My EX is white and I had to use rubbing compound to get them off. Use white polishing compond not red (too abrasive), then a good wax. After the wax seals the paint it won't stain again. cliffsurfs

Re: Yellow Spots on Back doors?

I have had 2 white Excursions(2000,2001) and they both had the yellow spots. They were from the rear washer. After the dealer replaced some part on the washer the problem was solved. I'm not sure what part they replaced but that is the problem.
