E-Series VansTechnical discussion of topics related to vans powered by any of the Navistar engines. This covers a broad number of years, but there isn't enough demand to split it any further.
I like. Good agressive look. The F-series looks way better in person than on pic, and I'm sure the van will be the same. They reallly need to make 17" rims stadanrd issue though.
Plus - bigger means space (and airflow) for bigger motor.
They should have just stretched the nose further. Then no problems with a 6.4.
You would have an e with a f nose.
No more X.
With all that BSing in that link about the new van. NOT one place did i see the word DIESEL or 6.4.
Did i miss something?
49.5% of the market.
62.8% of cutaway market.
I cannot wait to see next years numbers.
Cutaway is going to take a big hit .
I like the cutawy version better. But ouch! That will take some getting used to.

It doesn't look as bad as i thought it would, still i dunno... That cutaway with the sealed beams looks almost exactly like a GM...
I guess vans still don't get lighted towing mirrors either. The interior looks about the same aswell.
The claim of GVWR is 14,500 With improved chassis.
I dont see a box Chassis still. Just upgrades that the public has to do for use as a plumber/electrican/ect van.

I think I like it . . . I think . . . .
Not only did the standard boiler plate rah-rah press release not mention the word 'diesel', it also curiously omitted the word 'ambulance.'
Tut tut, girls, let's not mention anything negative.
A common rail, cooled-EGR, soot-trap-equipped version of the 4.5L V6 PSD might fit to order.
The "answer" to this mystery might be obtained as simply as going to the 6.4 forum and asking one of the proud new 2008 pickup owners to photograph his exhaust system.
The new exhaust system might not fit in the Econoline.

May your road stay clear & dry, may your fuel never gel, and may you never be outsmarted by your idiot lights.
Kinda looks like a stretched/limo X. They shoulda changed rear bumper to match. I wander if fuel economy will be better or worst? I like boldness, but maybe its a little much. Time will tell. If we all do start liken it, I wander if we can make some parts interchange? Hehhe
OK, I said my .02, Next in line.
It says "When properly equipped, the E-150 Van can tow up to 7,500 pounds, the E-150 Wagon up to 7,100 pounds, and the E-350 Super Duty and Super Duty Extended Wagon up to 10,000 pounds each."
How does an extended E350 wagon get a 10,000 lb tow rating when it only comes with the 5.4 ? Or will the 2008 extended E350 wagon also have the V10 option ?
The numbers are definitely on the rise. My 2004 is rated to tow 9500#.
The 6.8 V10 is still an option. What's new is the ability to get the 4.6 in the superduty vans.
I think if you do a little footwork you'll find that they've tinkered with the suspension a bit and made stability control standard on all superduty passenger vans and all extended body vans.
