E-Series VansTechnical discussion of topics related to vans powered by any of the Navistar engines. This covers a broad number of years, but there isn't enough demand to split it any further.
This is a thread to see how well people are doing with the vehicle,
How many miles you may have and what kind of major repairs have you had to do?
Year Mileage:
2000 E350 7.3L and I just turned over 20,000 miles. Low miles I know, my van still looks and runs like new thanks to no salt in Florida on the roads. All I had to replace is a Starter so far.
Oil You Use:
I'm running the T6 Full Synth Oil changing every 3-5k.
Current Diesel/Gas Fuel Price:
Hess Gas Station Diesel 3.84
Any Major Repairs:
All I had to replace is a Starter so far.
How Long to you Plan on Keeping it?
The way I take care of my van I can easily see another 20 years of service life from it.
I'm interested to hear how many miles some of the higher mileage 7.3 vans have.
Well mine's not a 7.3L but the title says diesel/gas check....
-343,400 miles.
-0w40 Liquimoly synthetic every 8-10,000 miles, Napa Platinum filter
-Regular unleaded $3.20-$3.30
-Major repairs:
1)Radiator @ 275k and again at 335k because the replacement was dumping ATF into the coolant
2) Ring & pinion @ 180k (broke a tooth of the pinion), then the carrier at 305k because it split in half
3) A couple fender mounted starter relays, and more recently the starter solenoid.
4) Few weeks ago replaced the #7 coil pack.
5) new windshield every spring due to the amount of driving in the mountains.
And no rust on mine, since Oregon does not use salt on roads.
Plan in keeping it for a while still. Hoping make it to 500,000 without any major repairs, but I'm already planning on replacing the other 7 coils. I suspect they aren't far behind.

Purchased at 33,000mi
No issues for me so far. It could use a bit more power pulling the 13K lbs up the large grades. Someday I'll fab up an intercooler and add some fuel!
