4" exhaust options

What are my options to get a 4" turbo back installed on my 03 7.3. I don't think anyone sells an off the shelf kit. Can I buy one for an f-series and modify it to work? What would I have to modify?

Re: 4" exhaust options

I bought a complete 4" DP/exhaust (alum) system here...fit and install went fine...all brackets and hangers using stock locations...some others have bought here too...I had good experience working with them...very reasonable ...

www.warpspeedperformance.com

the van system also came with an extra 5' section of 4" pipe, I think its a generic van system that also can be used on motorhome chassis...

good luck

Re: 4" exhaust options

Give Dennis a call @ ITP he has a VERY NICE 4" system for you 03, 7.3L
The set I got from Dennis was so simple my Grandson had it laid out on the Garage floor when I got home the day it arrived.
The whole job took about 2 hours at a local muffler shop to weld up.

Re: 4" exhaust options

IF you want stainless, you have to use an F series system for a 99-03 7.3 and modify it. To use an F-series exhaust on a van, you have two options.Buy a Van turbo adaptor (VTA) this part allows truck guys to use van turbos. It allows you to use a truck downpipe (Flange at turbo is larger on a truck). The other option is to cut the flange from your stock van down pipe and weld it to the new F series system down pipe.Depending on brand the down pipe may also need a little tweaking. This only applies if you want stainless exhaust.

Your other options for van specific exhaust were previously listed, they are both aluminized systems, but should hold up well. The link for ITP if he still has them is www.itpdiesel.com The van part has been permanently "under construction" since he re-did the site(limited demand)so you may have to call him anyway.

Re: 4" exhaust options

Do I want a 3.5 or 4" downpipe? Mods will be the exhaust, dp tuner, and perhaps water/meth in the future. I would imagine I will be running the 80 econo tune 99% of the time and maybe get the 120 race just for the hell of it.

Re: 4" exhaust options

http://www.warpspeedperformance.com/ comes with a 4 inch downpipe. HOWEVER when mine was installed, it was so tight that the pipe hit the bellhousing or something under there. The shop had to heat the pipe and put a "dimple" in it to clear the part and stop the vibration. No other problems other than the muffler that came with it still has some "drone" to it at hwy speeds.
