7.3idi Van versus Truck motor

Does anyone know the difference between the two? I have a truck motor ('89 7.3) that i'm trying to put into a 76-91 van body. I have the 7.3 engine crossmember pads from an '90 ambulance van and motor mounts. The problem I am having is that the oil pan hits the crossmember before the mounts touch.
Thanks.

I have never compared my van engine to my buddies pickup truck engine. It's possible the pan could be different.

Wait, are you saying this 7.3 IDI is from a truck (medium duty) or is it from a pickup???? If a medium duty truck, then there is a good chance that it is a different pan.

Oil pan, oil cooler, one exhaust manifold, two injector lines, fuel filter location.

That's just from memory of reading old posts, you may want to do a search to make sure.

I've add a few pics of my problem to my photos (Diesel crossmember). Everything I have searched shows the same part numbers for the oil pan and oil pump for the truck and van motors.
I'm hoping the wrecking yard I got the crossmember from still has the 7.3 that came out so I can see what the difference is. There's a piece of the puzzle missing.

Well, I got it figured out. There are three different mounting points, the motor plates on the crossmember, the motor mounts them selves, and the brackets that bolt to the block. The brackets that bolt on to motor are totally different. The drivers side is a deep cast piece about 4" longer with a different offset. The passengers is still a stamped piece, but a little deeper with a huge offset to the rear.
Now that I have the right combination of motor brackets, motor mounts and crossmember mounting plates.....Voila! it all bolts together and looks like it's in the right position. The oil pan is the same, and from what I've read, if you are doing a 4x4 swap, you need the drivers side exhaust manifold and oil cooler from a pick up anyway to clear the driveshaft. Hopefully I'll have it installed in the next week.
Thanks for all the replies and input.
